TOUR DATES – Sigur Rós to Play Bestival

Following a haitus that resulted in the release of frontman Jónsi’s solo debut, Icelandic group Sigur Rós are set to make a return with their first live performance in over three years. Since the release of their last studio album, 2008′s Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, the band released their live video and album Inni, while Jónsi expressed frustration with how their biggest hit had been exploited on television. In an interview with Gigwise he said, “Hoppipolla has been raped on British TV… In some weird way, the national TV here in Britain doesn’t have to ask permission to use songs if it’s in the background of TV shows or whatever… So they can just take it and use it and that happened a lot with Hoppipolla.”
Now the band have announced that they will be performing at Bestival festival, which will place on Sunday, September 9th, at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.
