Former Strapping Young Lad frontman Devin Townsend is set to make a rare appearance in the UK this summer at Bloodstock Open Air. The Canadian multi-instrumentalist has gained considerable acclaim for his varied work as a solo artist, along with the Devin Townsend Project. Townsend is set to take to the Ronnie James Dio Stage at the event, which will run from 12th to 24th of August.
Regarding the upcoming show last year’s failed set, Townsend says; “I would like to officially announce my appearance at this year’s edition of the awesome Bloodstock festival! Last year was a difficult time for the band and the festival alike, and this time we will make sure our gear is there and we are ready to rip! The festival includes many of my favorite bands through the years and it’s a total honor and privilage to be involved for the second year in a row!”
The Devin Townsend Project will release two albums in 2011, Deconstruction and Ghost. For more information on Bloodstock visit the official site!
