Former Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe is warming up for his new band’s performance at a charity concert today in aid of the recent tragedy in Japan and their latest show saw them appearing last night at the Tavastia Club in his native Helsinki. His current project features fellow Hanoi Rocks alumnus Sami Yaffa and Ginger from Georgia rockers The Wildhearts and their debut album, Sensory Overdrive, was produced by Aerosmith veteran Jack Douglas.
During yesterday’s performance the band treated fans to a rendition of the MC5 classic Kick Out the Jams, which has previously been covered by such artists as The Presidents of the United States of America and Bad Brains with Henry Rollins (the latter for the Christian Slater teen drama Pump Up the Volume).
