Over the weekend a host of metal bands appeared at the Rock Am Ring 2012 in Germany, including Soundgarden, Machine Head, Anthrax and Metallica. Among the acts was Marilyn Manson, who are currently hard to work promoting their eighth studio album Born Villain (read our summary here), which sees the shock rocker returning to his heavier roots.
In a recent video interview with NME Manson claimed, “I think that this record should say “Buyer, beware!” It’s actually not the album that you would want to put as if you were on a dating site, Match.com or something, it’s not the way to get girls to like you.” Footage of three songs from their performance has been posted online, commencing with Born Villain’s opener Hey, Cruel World and continuing with a cover Depeche Mode‘s Personal Jesus and the title track from their 1996 album Antichrist Superstar.
