Since their autobiography The Dirt was released several years ago, fans of Mötley Crüe have developed a newfound interest in their early days, in which the band became regular fixtures of the Los Angeles club scene. Footage of a performance from 1981 has surfaced on eBay, with Blabbermouth reporting on the story. The clip shows the group treating fans to a cover of Paperback Writer by The Beatles during a show The Starwood in L.A. when supporting Y&T on April 25th.
The track was never recorded by the band for an official release and this footage has remained unseen for thirty years. The show took place five months before the release of their debut album, Too Fast for Love, when they were still unsigned and sharing a house which became a hotspot for all-night parties, attracting the likes of Van Halen‘s David Lee Roth.
