Talking to us about his band The Pineapple Thief, singer and multi-instrumentalist Bruce Soord revealed plans to re-master and re-release the currently out-of-print album What We Have Sown. Talking about the next in the band’s series of re-issues, Bruce said, “It’s either going to be 137 or What We Have Sown”.
This will come as good news to fans of the band who haven’t yet got hold of this hard to find album. Bruce also added, regarding the re-release of his band’s sophomore effort 137: “There is quite a lot of bonus stuff around the 137 era, probably enough to make up a whole disc.”
Pineapple Thief fans have plenty to look forward to then, with a brand new album also in the works and set for release sometime in 2012. Bruce said of the new album: “I am really, really excited… We are pushing the production values up massively for this album. I’m talking to our management now about when this is going to be released but I haven’t got a date I’m allowed to share yet. But definitely 2012!” He went on to say: “It’s hard hitting but I’ve also tried to give it more depth. There are a lot more guitars on this album too”, also adding, “it’s tempting to go away and write an album of hard hitters. But this wouldn’t be the right thing to do as I know the softer songs hit a chord too.”
The Pineapple Thief‘s latest re-mastered album, Variations on a Dream, is released this week and comes with the also re-mastered bonus disc 8 Days.
