The Cure, Lacuna Coil and Combichrist to Return for Underworld: Awakening Soundtrack

Three years on from the critically mauled prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and the fourth installent in the vampires vs. werewolves franchise is set for release. Taking the series into the overused world of 3D, the movie sees the return of star Kate Beckinsale and is set for release through Screen Gems on January 20th 2012.

The three previous films were noted for their metal and industrial soundtracks, which included such artists as Puscifer, Deftones, Cradle of Filth and The Icarus Line. The tracklisting for the latest sequel, Underworld: Awakening have been revealed and for the first time it appears that Maynard James Keenan’s Puscifer are absent from the soundtrack, while former contributors Combichrist, Lacuna Coil and The Cure are set to return.

    Ironically, Rise of the Lycans was probably the best of the Underworld movies so far. The soundtrack to this new one doesn't sound very promising though.

    The fact that Puscifer are not on the new one is not a good sign
