Tenacious D never quite lived up to the promise of their earlier success, with their acoustic tongue-in-cheek classics Tribute and Fuck Her Gently hinting at a genius that never seemed to materialise. Instead, Jack Black focused on his acting career and appeared in such misfires as Envy, King Kong and Year One, before reuniting with bandmate Kyle Gass for the ill-advised feature length romp The Pick of Destiny. The duo have been quiet for some time but have revealed that they are currently working on their third album.
In an interview with Spinner Black said; “We’re in the middle of recording it. We’re about halfway through the writing process. We need another few months… But you can look for it at the end of 2011… This is strictly a musical endeavor, but I would not rule out another film.”
