In recent years, Sonic Youth has undergone drastic changes, from the band ending their contract with major label Geffen to singer Thurston Moore and bassist Kim Gordon separating after over twenty-five years of marriage. Having signed with Matador Records, they released their sixteenth studio album, The Eternal, and the soundtrack to the French thriller Simon Werner a Disparu, before announcing their hiatus.
Following on from last year’s solo album Demolished Thoughts, Moore is currently fronting a new project entitled Chelsea Light Moving, and the band have released a track available as free download called Burroughs.
