While Phil Lewis continues to front one incarnation of L.A. Guns, guitarist and founder Tracii Guns recently hired his first female singer, Rock Star Supernova runner-up Dilana.
In an interview with Metal Sludge the thirty-nine year old singer commented on former singer Jizzy Pearl (one-time vocalist for Love/Hate), whose last contribution to the group, Acoustic Gypsy Live, was released earlier this year; “I’m sorry to say. I listened to the songs. And I have to be honest. They were really hard to learn, because I couldn’t get through the whole track, without stopping it. Because I thought the voice was so – bad. That I could not focus. It was Jizzy. He has the most out of tune, out of pitch voice, of out connection, out of feeling voice I have ever heard in my life. I can’t get through a whole song without stopping it – It’s too painful for me.”
In response to Dilana’s criticism of both Pearl and Rock Star Superstar co-founder Gilby Clarke, Lewis’ L.A. Guns responded via Facebook, “Wow just read this!!! Looks like Tracii and Dilana are really making waves these days, LOL…… Just Pathetic!!!!!”
