This year’s Download is looming and more acts have been added to the line-up. The event, which will take place at Donington Park (almost thirty years after the first Monsters of Rock festival), already boasts such artists as Motorhead, Ginger (of The Quireboys and The Wildhearts fame), Bullet For My Valentine, Stone Temple Pilots, Megadeth, Sum 41 and even Ricky Warwick, known to fans of ’80s rock as the singer of The Almighty.

The headliners of the weekend, which will run from June 11th to the 13th, will be AC/DC, Aerosmith and Rage Against the Machine (after enjoying fresh success with their UK Christmas number one). The latest additions to the line-up include Coattail Riders, the new project from Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. A statement on Download’s site states; “Taking time out from his usual gig with the Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins brings his Coattail Riders to Donington to showcase the band’s new album Red Light Fever…Also confirmed are progressive/ambient metallers Devil Sold His Soul, atmospheric rockers Anathema, death metallers Trigger The Bloodshed, UK riff-makers Enemo-J, modern British metallers The More I See and Sondura.”

Good news for fans of Ginger is that not only will he be performing a solo set but will also appear alongside former Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe. Another appearance from a long-forgotten musician comes from Danny Vaughn, who enjoyed minor success in the early 1990s with the group Tyketto (who were responsible for the mediocre track Forever Young). In addition to the countless metal acts there will now also be several acoustic performances from the new Jägermeister stage.
