Two years after leaving L.A. Guns in 2002 to form the group Brides of Destruction with Nikki Sixx, guitarist and founder Tracii Guns decided to launch his own version of L.A. Guns with former Love/Hate frontman Jizzy Pearl. But now Guns has recruited a new singer following Pearl’s departure, choosing Dilana Robichaux, best known as the runner up on the reality show Rock Star: Supernova.
This will be the first time in the band’s thirty-year history that they have featured a female singer, so fans may be interested to see how they perform the classics Sex Action and Ballad of Jayne with a woman. Since splitting with Phil Lewis, resulting in two bands performing under the name L.A. Guns, Tracii Guns has yet to release a new studio album.
Guns commented on the decision via his Facebook page earlier today, “I gotta say, I am loving having a 90 percent female team behind the band as well. Women get shit done! Melody, Kris, Isabel, Ana and now jewels,,,,, thank you gals!”
