Spike Jonze was still a struggling filmmaker when he collaborated the first time with hip hop trio Beastie Boys on their 1993 track Time for Livin’. But it would be the three-minute promo clip for their hit Sabotage (read the making of here), which lampooned cop shows from the 1970s, that would help launch Jonze’s career. He would team up with Beastie Boys once again the same year for the song Sure Shot, both of which were featured on their acclaimed album Ill Communication.
Jonze and Beastie Boys have joined forces for the first time in seventeen years for the video to their latest track Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win, which features vocals from Santigold. Q have published an exclusive image from the video, which will debut next month.
