Still the most popular and influential Christian rock band of all time, Stryper have been performing together for almost thirty years and still retain the original line-up. Their most successful era came during the height of the hair metal craze in the mid-1980s with their classic album To Hell with the Devil and the hit single Calling on You.

While music tastes have changed, Stryper have remained true to themselves and have even kept their trademark orange and black outfits. Their most recent album, The Covering, was released earlier this year and featured renditions of numerous metal classics from the likes of Kiss, Deep Purple and Van Halen.

On Friday, July 29th, Stryper performed at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. “Penn’s Peak was awesome! Thanks for treating us so well,” said frontman Michael Sweet on Twitter after the show. A video of the Heaven and Hell, a cover of the Black Sabbath track which also appeared on The Covering, has appeared online and can be viewed here!
