Details of the new Crippled Black Phoenix album, (Mankind) The Craft Ape, are now available on the band’s record label’s website.
The website describes the theme of the album as being “firmly planted in the corruption of mankind and injustice, but also ultimately in the hope that all is not lost, and that there’s a common thread connecting people of like-minds wherever you may travel.”
(Mankind) The Crafty Ape will be the band’s fifth album and is set for release at the end of January 2012. The 80+ minute album will be spread over 2 CDs and will contain tracks with titles such as Nothing (We Are…), Born In A Hurricane and A Suggestion (Not A Very Nice One). For more details and the full track list visit the Mascot Label website.
In an interview with us in October, the band’s founding member and main man, Justin Greaves, said of the new album: “I think the feel of it is more focused and a bit more straight-to-the-point. Maybe this is the CBP ‘rock album’, I mean, there are the usual miserable parts and dark/subversive subject matter, but more than the previous albums, there’s a sense of defying the misery with black humour, more than ever I feel like fighting back against real-world knock backs and mental issues with songs that are more uncompromising and just that bit stronger.” You can read the full interview here.
