Poison frontman Bret Michaels has revealed that his nexy studio album will feature collaborations with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, singer Jimmy Buffett and country icon Loretta Lynn. Following on from 2010′s Custom Built, which included a collaboration with teen star Miley Cyrus, Michaels is set to release his new album Get Your Rock On later this year.
Having already allowed teen star Miley Cyrus to rework Poison‘s 1988 hit Every Rose Has Its Thorn for her own solo album Can’t Be Tamed, Michaels also performed the song on America’s Got Talent, Michaels has re-recorded the track once again, this time with seventy-six year old Lynn.
In an interview with Rolling Stone he says; “Loretta Lynn and I are gonna redo Every Rose Has Its Thorn together. And, for me, growing up in a family that my father loved country music and Coal Miner’s Daughter, this is gonna be a really awesome time… There are two songs we wrote together. One of them is going to appear, she’s a doing a new album with T-Bone Burnett, we’re gonna go down and do one on that. And then we’re gonna do one (on) an album that’s called Me, My Guitar And I, it’s a record that will come out either later in the year or sometime next year.”
