It has been thirty three years since Black Sabbath released Never Say Die!, their final studio album to date with original frontman Ozzy Osbourne. In the decades since, the band performed with such acclaimed singers as Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes and Ian Gillan, while Tony Martin provided the vocals for 1995′s Forbidden.
Following numerous rumours regarding reforming, the group are finally set to record their first album in sixteen years and their first with Osbourne since the late 1970s, with acclaimed producer Rick Rubin (Slayer, Johnny Cash) overseeing the sessions.
In a press conference regarding their long-awaited comeback bassist Geezer Butler says; “It really is back to the old Black Sabbath style and sound. We tried to do that before but it didn’t seem to work, it wasn’t up to our standards. But this time, I mean, the stuff that Tony’s been playing has been absolutely brilliant and it’s great to be a part of it, so we’re all excited again and we know this time it’s going to happen.”
