If Bret Michaels wasn’t so distracted these days by reality TV, Miley Cyrus and his other ill-advised projects, then perhaps former hair metallers Poison would have something new to release, instead of producing their sixth ‘best of’ compilation. Commencing in 1996, which had marked the tenth anniversary since their debut album, their first retrospective was the career-spanning Poison’s Greatest Hits: 1986–1996, released while original guitarist C.C. DeVille was absent from the band. Their most recent was last year’s 10 Great Songs, which merely featured a selection of tracks from their first two albums; Look What the Cat Dragged In and Open Up and Say… Ahh!. Their last official album was 2007′s Poison’d!, which featured a selection of covers of such artists as David Bowie, The Cars, Kiss and Alice Cooper.
Capitol/EMI will release Double Dose: Ultimate Hits on March 27th in time for their highly anticipated tour with Mötley Crüe and New York Dolls. Blabbermouth have revealed the rather uninspiring artwork, which can be viewed below. The album will feature all of the band’s hits, as well as a mixture of covers (Suffragette City) and B-sides (Livin’ for the Minute). The full tracklist for the album will be as follows:
