Following the release of his critically acclaimed album Welcome 2 My Nightmare, legendary rock star Alice Cooper is set to return to the big screen for a cameo in Tim Burton’s upcoming adaptation of Dark Shadows, which will once again see regular collaborator Johnny Depp taking the lead role, while Burton’s partner, Helena Bonham Carter, will also make her obligatory appearance.
Cooper is no stranger to acting, having appeared as himself in The Muppets and Wayne’s World, while also taking roles in such horror movies as John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness and Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. The screenplay for Dark Shadows was co-written by John August, having previously worked with the director on Big Fish and Corpse Bride, among others. The movie will co-star Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns), horror icon Christopher Lee and Chloë Moretz (Kick Ass).
