Misery Loves Co

Possibly due to the success of Nine Inch Nails and Ministry a trend began in the mid-1990s in which metal bands blended trash and industrial. Along with the likes of Fear Factory, Swedish duo Misery Loves Co. enjoyed minor success amongst the metal crowd although they failed to break into the mainstream. Due to their connection with Earache, a popular metal label, the group was featured on various promotional CDs throughout their brief career, which ran from 1993 until 2000, shortly after the release of their last album. The group were formed by multi-instrumentalist Örjan Örnkloo and singer Patrik Wiren and soon began to record as a twosome, before enlisting Jim Edwards, Marre Ericksson and Olle Dahlstedt for live performances.

Following their first release, an EP entitled Private Hell, in 1994 Örnkloo and Wiren recorded their self titled debut album independently, where they came to the attention of Earache. The album featured several tracks that would become fan favourites during their tours, including My Mind Still Speaks, Kiss Your Boots and Need Another One. Their popularity grew as they performed alongside the likes of Clawfinger. Their third album, 1997′s Not Like Them, would be heavily publicised by the likes of Metal Hammer and Kerrang!, both of which would include tracks on their free CDs. After the release of their third and final album, 2000′s Your Vision Was Never Mine to Share, Örnkloo and Wiren finally decided to disband Misery Loves Co. to focus on individual projects.
